The cognacs of Domaine du Buisson have unique characters having been produced froharvests and distilled and aged in oak barrels on the property of the Tessendier family which has
existed since 1880.
This is a single blend and vineyard production from the smallest and most distinctive area of production in Cognac, named "Borderies". This subregion is covering 5% of the cognac total AOC (approx. 4000 hectares total).
Smallest AOC not in production but in overall size, with the most distinctive, characterized with nutty aromas and flavor, as well as a distinct hints of violet or iris. Requires less aging than Grande and Petite Champagne crus to reach maturity.
Its soil includes clay and flint stones as a result of the decomposition of limestone.
To preserve the typical nature of the Borderies cru, the distilledm exceptional eaux-de-vies are matured in new oak barrels in a pure style. The result is the extraction of tannins occurring during the ageing process which brings out the richness of the terrioir of the eaux-de-vies. |
